DIRECTOR SEASON: Martin Scorsese

Martin-Scorsese

Ah, Marty. One of Hollywood’s all-time greats, and quite deservedly so. Much similar to Spielberg (shameless plug, check out last month’s Director Season), Mr. Scorsese is perhaps one of the most recognisable directors working today. Beginning his career in the 70s, Scorsese’s filmography has marvelled throughout the years, with the 74-year-old continually dipping his fingers in different genres.

However, it’s shocking to admit that I’ve only seen five of his films (yeah, sue me). These are:

  • Taxi Driver (1976)
  • The Departed (2006)
  • Goodfellas (1990)
  • Silence (2017)
  • The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)

It’s time to rectify this problem. Over the next month, I aim to indulge myself in Scorsese’s illustrious filmography. Here are the films I aim to watch in September:

  • Boxcar Bertha (1972)
  • Who’s That Knocking At My Door? (1967)
  • Mean Streets (1973)
  • Raging Bull (1980)
  • The King of Comedy (1982)
  • After Hours (1985)
  • The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)
  • The Age of Innocence (1993)
  • Casino (1995)
  • Gangs of New York (2002)
  • The Aviator (2004)
  • Shutter Island (2010)
  • Hugo (2011)

Again, if there’s any not listed above that you’d like me to see, please recommend it below!
