Director Crash Course: Richard Linklater

The show must go on.

August is Richard Linklater month, another director whose works I’m shamefully unfamiliar with. With films such as School of Rock, Slacker and Boyhood under his belt, and of course, the ‘Before’ trilogy; I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to finally delve into his impressive body of work. Better late than ever, right?

As I have only previously seen School of Rock, here are the list of Linklater films that I aim to watch this month:

  • It’s Impossible to Learn to Plow by Reading Books (1988)
  • Slacker (1990)
  • Dazed and Confused (1993)
  • Before Sunrise (1995)
  • SubUrbia (1996)
  • The Newton Boys (1998)
  • Waking Life (2001)
  • Tape (2001)
  • Before Sunset (2004)
  • Bad News Bears (2005)
  • Fast Food Nation (2006)
  • A Scanner Darkly (2006)
  • Me and Orson Welles (2008)
  • Bernie (2011)
  • Before Midnight (2013)
  • Boyhood (2014)
  • Everybody Wants Some!! (2016)
  • Last Flag Flying (2017)

It’s going to be a busy month…
